Edited web series and uploaded - These will be released every few days and then we will work on a second series.
Look more into server mods. - This showed that they go out of data and break to often. I am not ruling out mods but untill a stable 1.8 is released we will not be using them.
Look at promotion - Using you tube to promote as it a good way to communicate to a huge amount of people for free and it's easy. Also I enjoy making videos.
Next image update. This will be out very soon. Might go work on it now even.
Server tour with PJSpeedy (Video) - This is already out. Released last night! It's now out of date and a new one is going to be recorded soon. Well we are building up to recording another!
Forum settings (Member settings) (maybe) - This doesn't seem useful at the moment as people don't need to communicate on the forums. Will look into this again if the topic is raised but no one seems to care for a forum at the moment.
Dedicated You tube channel for minecraft and server vblog. (Looking into it) - I have a channel but I am working on a theme and I will launch it when it's ready. I plan on it being quite a project with multiple game play videos being uploaded. I'll post when it's up with a link.

The server is open to anyone via an invite or by applying. We have a limited number of slots (People online at the same time) so we have to keep numbers lower at the moment. Everyone is welcome to look at the server screen shots and trough the blog posts.

Update: Spawn Edit
Today we have made some progress on making the server look better with the addition of a spawn zone. This is a protected area for now players to spawn. There is a nice shape with a diamond block at the centre to mark spawn point and signs to show the way. There will also be a new village hall that has a deposit box/track to send your stuff to other places. As of right now we have only one destination and that is the tower's -2 floor. This is like the mailing room.
All the other stuff is still being worked on but only a little bit every day. So much to do and so many distractions.

Update: Everything is on hold, not Mod time.
I am away for a few days.
I still plan to launch the mentioned you tube channel and videos, so look out for that over the next week.

Update: Video editing and such...
I have been mainly focused on video editing so the other things have taken a back seat for a while but I'm just posting to update the to do list really.

Update: Website Up, Server change ideas
Hello and welcome to another update on the empire server. Gaining new players isn't going that well but I have just finished the recording of a mini series that will be released on youtube as well as the blog so maybe that will pull in some players. This still needs editing, uploading and all that so maybe give me a few days.
Talking to people the main put off for people to join is having to sign up and it has been put forward that we make everyone able to join the server but add permissions for what they can do. This has been considered in the past and it also allows for other mods to be used. The thing is we would all have to use an out dated version of mine craft and it would spoil the authenticity of the game a bit. I have looked into it however and I'm looking into our options. These are quite limeted but the search will continue tomorrow.
We now have the live map so it has new features. I'll not go through them but feel free to explore them yourselves. Without using a mod version of minecraft the map cannot show player location which is quite annoying. Looks like notch needs more server support or we may be better off running on a mod server. I will maybe post about advantages and disadvantages of the mod server later.
Good news the website works fully with a small store to bring in donations and a form for people to sign up.

Some people with the user names ourangans, djfantome151, DSGaming78, jetxmael and Zhorkie appear to be trying to log in to the server but this user is currently unknowen and has not signed up. Please email me at empiremc@gmail,com and I will get you white listed.

Hello, it's been a while as my last blog update didn't post so I'll cover what was missed in that as well as the news!
I have been busy working out the best ways for people to join the server quickly but without letting anyone that will just attack the server with greifing or abuse.
The best way was to set up a new site with a web form for people to apply through but this will cost money after a sort of trial period and that just adds to the cost of running this server.
So that presented a new problem of funding. Also there is a 7 day wait before forms can be used through webs.com to stop fraudulent activity so I had to think of something to allow people to apply in the short term.
Webs offers us a way to donate to the servers fund so that is one way of allowing people to help the server stay online for as long as possible. The other thing it offers is a web store so I thought we could run one giving items to people at a small price that will all add up towards paying server bills.
We will also be able to use that website to talk out side of the game, possibly make our own profiles and it also gives us a forum to use.
So that's the website and what that is all about... Lets put that down as "Coming soon" for now.
In other news: The world has been growing. We still need more players though. I signed us up to this new ranking system through http://minecraft-vqs.com We are the empire server and we can vote which will hopefully get us some reputation with mine craft players. You tube channel is also being made to promote the server to new and existing players!
That is all I can think of for now. Image update soon, (I hope) and a new video which is of a launch pad test from the server.

Updated to version 1.7 - Server running!
The new update is here. We have just updated the server to 1.7 and there has been no issues. Just update your version of minecraft when prompted and you should be able to play as normal but with these new features!

Update: New Rails, New land!
Hey minecraft fans. Been a busy day of minecrafting. I have decided to do some recording of the game play on the server. I'll do recorded tours of the server builds and also some little videos of general play. I will commentate but it will take a while for me to get used to the recording. 10menjohn may join me along with some other players if they want.
In other news we need more building to happen so I'm spending some of today hopefully making more reasons to want to do that. This will be the mega build, challenges and a new idea of Top Builds.
We have built some speedy rails out across the land that not only give you the achievement but also lead you to new areas that you may wish to build in.
That was your update for today, now is a list of what is going on. (So I don't forget)
