Hello, it's been a while as my last blog update didn't post so I'll cover what was missed in that as well as the news!
I have been busy working out the best ways for people to join the server quickly but without letting anyone that will just attack the server with greifing or abuse.
The best way was to set up a new site with a web form for people to apply through but this will cost money after a sort of trial period and that just adds to the cost of running this server.
So that presented a new problem of funding. Also there is a 7 day wait before forms can be used through webs.com to stop fraudulent activity so I had to think of something to allow people to apply in the short term.
Webs offers us a way to donate to the servers fund so that is one way of allowing people to help the server stay online for as long as possible. The other thing it offers is a web store so I thought we could run one giving items to people at a small price that will all add up towards paying server bills.
We will also be able to use that website to talk out side of the game, possibly make our own profiles and it also gives us a forum to use.

So that's the website and what that is all about... Lets put that down as "Coming soon" for now.

In other news: The world has been growing. We still need more players though. I signed us up to this new ranking system through http://minecraft-vqs.com We are the empire server and we can vote which will hopefully get us some reputation with mine craft players. You tube channel is also being made to promote the server to new and existing players!

That is all I can think of for now. Image update soon, (I hope) and a new video which is of a launch pad test from the server.

Updated to version 1.7 - Server running!

The new update is here. We have just updated the server to 1.7 and there has been no issues. Just update your version of minecraft when prompted and you should be able to play as normal but with these new features! 

Minecraft Beta 1.7

1.7:

+ Added pistons
+ Fire or redstone is now required to trigger TNT
+ Fences can be stacked
+ Added shears
+ Shears can be used to pick up leaf blocks
+ Shears can be used to shear sheep without hurting them
* Sheep no longer drop wool from being punched

Update: New Rails, New land!

Hey minecraft fans. Been a busy day of minecrafting. I have decided to do some recording of the game play on the server. I'll do recorded tours of the server builds and also some little videos of general play. I will commentate but it will take a while for me to get used to the recording. 10menjohn may join me along with some other players if they want.
In other news we need more building to happen so I'm spending some of today hopefully making more reasons to want to do that. This will be the mega build, challenges and a new idea of Top Builds.
We have built some speedy rails out across the land that not only give you the achievement but also lead you to new areas that you may wish to build in.
